Brydian have just installed a new 4 colour direct imaging Presstek 34 DI X, with full in line UV dryer.

Brydian Cards have been at the leading edge of UV printing on to credit card grade pvc for the past 3 years and have learnt all the process variables and techniques required to print high definition output that exceeds that of the conventional offset and digital press.

With up to 300lpi and FM screening we can print on to various substrates from 120 micron teslin to 300 micron credit card grade pvc and even 600 micron pvc and similar thickness substrate. The unique press design, laser imaging and thermal plate media give Brydian the edge when it comes to speed of turnaround for colour printing.

Working closely with Presstek and our chosen ink supplier we have formed a strong team capable of high quality repeatable colour printing to ISO standards of card lamination and manufacture. We can also offer spot colour matching and UV varnish as well as commercial printing and a growing list of approved substrates.

With increased running speeds of up to 8,000 sheets per hour and waterless offset UV curing inks, the new installation will fully meet our 4 colour print requirement and give our customers the level of service and colour consistent quality that they expect from an established plastic card manufacturer.

In line PDS-Pro E quickly and accurately produces ICC profiles by taking colourmetric measurements from printed sheets, thus ensuring colour consistency throughout the print run. With reduced dot gain and improved solids the print quality is far superior to conventional litho press capabilities. With bespoke Presstek built in line UV dryer unit, we can take printed sheets direct to next production stage with no lost time for drying and even produce hard copy card proofs on the same day of receipt of artwork!
